Interior plantation-style shutters depend on accurate opening measurements and frame fit. Exterior shutters depend more heavily on facade material, weather exposure and hardware.
A product designed only as decoration should not be treated the same as a functional exterior shutter system.
Measure the Opening
Inside-mount and outside-mount systems need different dimensions. The opening should be checked for squareness, trim interference and any damaged frame areas before the shutter is installed.
