A Murphy or wall bed is different from a freestanding bed because the wall connection is part of the system. The cabinet, lifting mechanism and bed frame need to fit the room and the manufacturer mounting requirements before the unit is treated as ordinary furniture.
NY-GoodHome handles wall-bed installation requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with the product link, room dimensions and wall photos.
Existing Wall Bed or New Installation?
A new boxed system starts with cabinet and mechanism assembly. A replacement may also involve removing an existing unit or working around old holes, trim and wall damage.
Tell us whether the wall already has a similar bed, whether the new system uses the same footprint and whether any removal work is expected.
Wall Type and Mounting
The installation must follow the manufacturer’s attachment requirements. Drywall, plaster, masonry and framed walls can require different fastening approaches.
A wall-bed project should not assume that every requested location has suitable support. If blocking, framing changes or structural reinforcement are required, that becomes a separate scope.
Clearance and Final Operation
The bed needs room to open without hitting ceiling fixtures, shelving, furniture or doors. Baseboards can also affect how the cabinet sits against the wall.
Final alignment should be checked only after the system is fixed in its actual position.
If the same project also includes Bed & Bed Frame Assembly or Closet System Installation, mention those needs up front so the work can be coordinated without mixing the scopes.
