Custom-Sized Installation vs Custom Fabrication
A custom-sized system can arrive from a cabinetmaker, retailer or other source ready to install. The installation still needs to account for walls, floors, baseboards and adjacent trim.
Designing and manufacturing new bespoke cabinetry is a different business capability and is not assumed by this page.
Alcoves and Built-In Appearance
Alcove units need enough information about width, height, depth and wall variation to be fitted cleanly. A built-in appearance may involve scribing, fillers or trim transitions that do not exist with a freestanding bookcase.
If the product is simply a flat-pack freestanding bookcase, use Bookcase Assembly instead.
Wall Attachment
Tall or wall-supported shelving needs appropriate mounting. Send the wall type and manufacturer requirements if available.
