A bathroom exhaust fan is both an electrical device and part of a ventilation path. Replacing an existing fan can be much simpler than creating a new location with ducting and wiring.
NY-GoodHome accepts exhaust-fan requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with fan model information, ceiling photos and details about the existing duct and switch if known.
Replace Existing or Install New?
A replacement can sometimes reuse an existing opening, duct and wiring when the new fan is compatible. A new fan can require ceiling cutting, duct routing to the exterior and line-voltage electrical work.
That larger scope should be identified before the project is accepted.
Duct and Vent Path
A fan cannot ventilate effectively if there is no suitable route for exhaust air. Existing duct condition, termination and access are separate from the fan housing itself.
HVAC or building-envelope work may be needed when the duct path is missing or defective.
Controls and Features
Timers, humidity sensors and light/fan combinations can change wiring and control requirements. The product should be checked against the existing switches before replacement.
When the project also involves Light Switch & Dimmer Installation & Repair or General Electrical Services, include those items in the request so each scope can be planned clearly.
