Vinyl flooring includes several different systems. Click-lock LVP, glue-down LVT and sheet vinyl may look related, but their substrate and installation requirements are not identical.
NY-GoodHome handles vinyl-flooring installation and repair in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with product information, room photos and the existing floor condition.
LVP, LVT or Sheet Vinyl?
Floating LVP systems often use click joints and expansion details. Glue-down products depend more directly on substrate smoothness and adhesive conditions. Sheet vinyl introduces larger continuous pieces and seam planning.
Confirm the product before deciding on preparation.
Subfloor and Moisture
A vinyl product should not be used to hide a soft or moving subfloor. Flatness and moisture requirements should follow the manufacturer.
“Waterproof” marketing language also belongs to the product specification; NY-GoodHome does not make a blanket claim that every vinyl floor is waterproof in every installation.
Repair and Transitions
Localized plank replacement can work when matching product is available. Sheet repairs and glue-down systems can require a different approach.
Door transitions and baseboards should be coordinated with the final floor height.
