Drywall finishing starts after board is installed and stable. Tape, joint compound, corners and sanding turn separate panels into a continuous surface that can be primed and painted.
NY-GoodHome provides drywall-finishing requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with photos of the installed board and the rooms involved.
Tape, Compound and Corners
Factory edges, butt joints and inside/outside corners need different treatment. Corner beads, tape and joint compound should be installed in a sequence that lets each layer build a wider, smoother transition.
Several Passes, Not One Thick Layer
A good finish is built gradually. Heavy single-pass filling can shrink, crack or leave ridges that are harder to correct.
The surrounding lighting also affects how visible surface variation becomes, especially under strong side light.
New Board vs Repair
If board is missing, damaged or still needs installation, use Drywall Installation or Drywall & Wall Repair first. This page is for finishing already-installed surfaces.
Paint-Ready Does Not Mean Painting Included
The finishing scope can prepare the surface for primer and paint. Interior Painting is a separate service unless it is part of the agreed project.
