Wallpaper installation depends on wall preparation, material type and layout. Removal can be equally important because older wallcovering may leave adhesive, torn drywall paper or damaged surfaces behind.
NY-GoodHome handles wallpaper installation and removal requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with wall photos and the new wallcovering product if selected.
Install New or Remove Existing?
A new installation should start with a clean, stable surface. Removal should be scoped from the existing material and number of layers rather than assuming every wallpaper peels off cleanly.
If removal exposes damaged drywall, repair that surface before new wallcovering or paint is installed.
Pattern and Layout
Pattern repeat, seam placement, corners and openings all affect material use and visual alignment. Large patterns can require more planning than plain wallcovering.
Material Type
Traditional pasted wallpaper, nonwoven products and peel-and-stick materials can use different installation methods. Specialty hand-painted or high-value wallcoverings may require a specialist installer.
Painting After Removal
If the wall will be painted instead of re-papered, Interior Painting is a separate finishing step after removal and repair.
If you also need Drywall & Wall Repair, mention it when you call so both parts of the project can be planned together.
