A garbage disposal connects the sink, drain, dishwasher connection and electrical power. A jammed unit, a leaking flange and a dead motor are different problems and should be described before replacement is assumed.

Jam, Leak or No Power?
A jam may be mechanical. A leak can come from the sink flange, discharge connection or dishwasher inlet. No power can involve the unit, switch, reset or electrical circuit.
Do not place hands inside a disposal for inspection.
Replacement Fit
A replacement unit should be compatible with the sink flange, available cabinet space and existing drain/discharge layout.
Changing drains, sinks or electrical circuits is separate scope.
Dishwasher and Power Connections
