A kitchen sink is connected to the countertop, drain, supply lines, faucet and sometimes a garbage disposal. Replacing the basin can be straightforward when the new product fits the existing opening and connections, or it can turn into plumbing and countertop work when those conditions change.
NY-GoodHome accepts sink-installation and repair requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with the sink model, countertop photos and existing plumbing layout.
Drop-In, Undermount or Other Mounting Style
The sink type determines how it meets the countertop. Undermount sinks rely on the underside of the counter and appropriate support, while drop-in sinks use the top edge.
Changing sink type may require a different cutout or countertop work beyond a simple replacement.
Drain and Supply Connections
Existing drains and supply lines should be compatible with the planned sink and faucet. Relocating plumbing or correcting hidden line problems is regulated plumbing work and is not automatically included.
Faucet and Disposal Coordination
Faucets and garbage disposals have their own service pages because each can create separate compatibility or utility questions.
Repair vs Replacement
A leak at a fitting is different from a damaged sink body or failed countertop seal. The source should be identified before the sink is replaced unnecessarily.
