A shower pan is part of the water-management system, not just the visible shower floor. Size, drain position, subfloor, slope and waterproofing need to work together before tile or glass is installed above it.
NY-GoodHome accepts shower-pan requests in Brooklyn and New York City for scope review. Call (223) 226-1828 with bathroom photos, pan type and drain location.
Prefabricated Base or Tiled Pan?
A prefabricated base has fixed dimensions and drain positions. A tiled shower floor uses a constructed waterproof pan and slope system.
Those are different installations and should be identified before demolition or product purchase.
Drain and Subfloor
The drain location should match the pan or be separately relocated by appropriate plumbing scope. The subfloor also needs to support the selected system and allow the required slope.
NY-GoodHome does not use this page to claim licensed drain relocation or structural subfloor design automatically.
Waterproofing and Wall Transitions
The pan must connect to the wall waterproofing system and threshold. Shower tile should not begin until the water-management assembly is ready.
For a full shower renovation, use Shower Remodeling rather than treating the pan as an isolated component.
