A ramp is determined by the height it must overcome and the horizontal space available to do it. Entry location, landings, turns, surface conditions and handrails can all affect whether a modular or permanent ramp is practical.
NY-GoodHome accepts wheelchair-ramp requests in Brooklyn and New York City for scope review. Call (223) 226-1828 with site photos, total rise and the available route.
Modular or Permanent Ramp?
Temporary or modular systems can use manufacturer-defined components and supports. Permanent wood, metal or concrete ramps can require foundations, custom construction and project-specific approvals.
The system type should be identified before installation is offered.
Rise, Run and Landings
Measure the vertical rise from the lower surface to the entry. The available horizontal run and space for landings or turns determine whether the route can be laid out as intended.
Ramp geometry and compliance requirements must be checked against the actual property and project rules.
Surface and Anchoring
The ramp needs a suitable supporting surface or foundation. Steps, landscaping, property lines and drainage can all affect the route.
Handrails and Entry Door
Handrails, edge protection and the doorway at the top may need to be considered as part of the access route. A doorway that remains too narrow can still limit access even after a ramp is installed.
Code, Permit and ADA Boundary
Formal requirements depend on property type, jurisdiction and use. NY-GoodHome does not make a blanket “ADA compliant” claim or promise permit handling through this page.
