A pocket door disappears into a wall cavity, so the condition behind the finished wall matters as much as the visible door. Repairing an existing pocket system can be very different from creating a new one.
NY-GoodHome handles pocket-door requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with photos, door size and a description of the problem or new-install plan.
Existing System or New Installation?
An existing door may need rollers, guides or track adjustment. A new pocket door can require a purpose-built frame inside the wall, which may mean opening and rebuilding finishes.
That structural and finish scope should be identified before the job is treated as a simple door installation.
Track, Rollers and Alignment
The door should move freely without rubbing the pocket or jumping the track. Rollers, guides and stops need to work with the door weight and existing frame.
If access to the track requires wall opening, drywall and trim repair should be included as separate finish work.
Wall Cavity and Utilities
Electrical boxes, pipes or structural framing inside the proposed pocket area can make a new installation more complex. NY-GoodHome does not claim structural redesign or utility relocation automatically.
For an exposed sliding system that does not enter the wall, use Barn Door Installation instead.
