A ceiling fan adds rotating weight and movement to the electrical box and ceiling support, so it should not be treated like an ordinary lightweight fixture. The existing box, wiring and support need to be understood before a replacement fan is installed.
NY-GoodHome accepts ceiling-fan installation and repair requests in Brooklyn and New York City. Call (223) 226-1828 with the fan model and photos of the existing ceiling location.
Replacement Fan or New Location?
Replacing a fan where a properly supported fan box and compatible wiring already exist can be a different project from adding a fan to a location that only has a light fixture—or no electrical point at all.
New boxes, wiring or circuits are regulated electrical work and should be qualified before service.
Support and Mounting
The box and support must be appropriate for the fan. NY-GoodHome does not assume every ceiling box is fan-rated from appearance alone.
High ceilings or unusual mounting conditions can also change access and support requirements.
Wobble, Noise and Controls
Wobble can come from blade alignment, mounting or other mechanical conditions. Noise or a failed remote may be a control or product issue. Electrical diagnosis beyond ordinary replacement should be separated from mechanical assembly.
If you also need Light Switch & Dimmer Installation & Repair, mention it when you call so both parts of the project can be planned together.
